Sobyanin announced the start of construction of 11 schools of the future
11 of the 15 schools of the future, modern educational spaces, have begun to be designed and built in Moscow. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in the Maks messenger.
"The main priority is to ensure high—quality and affordable world—class education and a large-scale renovation of the educational infrastructure," Sobyanin wrote. 863.1 billion rubles will be allocated for the modernization of the material and technical base of educational institutions in 2027-2029, of which 269.8 billion will be allocated in the coming year, he said.
In just three years, 150 educational facilities are planned to be built in the city, the mayor said. Of these, 26 will be built at the expense of the city budget, and 124 — with investors' money. Reconstruction and construction of schools and kindergartens will make it possible to provide about 92,000 young Muscovites with new educational places every year, Sobyanin noted.
According to the My School program, 100 renovated buildings were opened in September 2026, the mayor recalled. In 2027, it is planned to put 85 more in order.
Separately, the mayor noted that the city will continue comprehensive training of high school students for future professional activities. Currently, pre-professional classes are open in more than 75% of Moscow schools, and more than half of all high school students in the city study there, Sobyanin said.
In general, 2.5 trillion rubles will be allocated from the budget for the development of the capital's education in the next three years, Sobyanin said. Of this amount, 801.3 billion rubles are accounted for in 2027, the mayor said. 18.9 billion rubles will be allocated for grant support of educational organizations during this period, including 6.3 billion in 2027, he said.
