Lavrov and Wang Yi confirmed the closeness of Russia and China's positions on global issues

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi confirmed the closeness of the two countries' positions on international issues, including relations with the United States and the crises in Ukraine and Iran. This was announced on October 14 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The talks were held in a trusting and constructive manner typical of Russian-Chinese relations, and confirmed the proximity or convergence of the parties' positions on the issues discussed," the statement said.

The foreign ministers also highly appreciated the development of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between Russia and China on the background of the 25th anniversary of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.

The Ministers discussed the implementation of the agreements reached by the two leaders and the preparation of upcoming high-level events. Special attention was paid to the development of cooperation within the framework of the CICA.

In addition, the parties stressed the need to strengthen coordination in the international arena, including in the UN, SCO, BRICS, G20 and APEC.

During the talks, Lavrov handed over to his Chinese counterpart the report of the International Public Tribunal led by Maxim Grigoriev, a member of the Russian Public Chamber, on allegations of falsification of events in the Ukrainian Butch.

Wang Yi stated that the approaches of Russia and China on the Northern Sea Route coincide.

On the same day, Lavrov said that the strategic link between Moscow and Beijing plays an important stabilizing role in the international arena. Lavrov expressed hope that this year the record in trade exchange with China will be broken.
