The Russian car market exceeded 1 million cars sold in 2026

According to the results of 41 weeks of 2026, 1,027 million new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 6.4% more than in the same period last year. This was reported on October 13 by the analytical agency Autostat.

Lada remains the market leader, with sales of 252.8 thousand vehicles from the beginning of the year to October 11 inclusive. This is 0.7% more than a year earlier. Haval retains the first place among foreign brands with the result of 135.9 thousand cars (+12.9%).

The third place in the overall rating was taken by the Russian brand Tenet, which sold 108.4 thousand cars. Its sales increased 19-fold. The top five also included Geely with a result of about 62 thousand cars (-9.8%) and Belgee, whose sales increased by 1.9% to 46.1 thousand cars.

According to analysts, by the end of 2026, the Russian market for new passenger cars may reach about 1.33 million cars, approximately at the level of last year.
