Leningradsky railway Station is ready to receive HSR trains
Trips with children will no longer be subject to unreasonable surcharges when traveling by taxi: a corresponding bill will be submitted to the State Duma by the end of 2026. Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin told Vladimir Putin about this initiative at a meeting in the Kremlin on October 13. They also touched upon the readiness of Leningradsky Railway Station to receive trains that will run along the HSR, the modernization of regional airports and the launch of unmanned trucks to Chelyabinsk and Astana. On the same day, the head of state discussed the diesel fuel agreements between Russia and the United States by phone with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
What was discussed at the meeting
Moscow's Leningradsky Railway Station is fully ready to receive trains that will be used on the Moscow—St. Petersburg high-speed railway, Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin said at a meeting in the Kremlin. This became possible after the recently completed renovation of the building, he explained. In addition, the number of seats in the station's waiting rooms has tripled. According to calculations, by 2030, passenger traffic between the two capitals will amount to about 23 million people per year.
At the same time, modernization of the aviation infrastructure in the regions continues. The equipment of the checkpoint at Tyumen Roshchino airport has been completed. In Orenburg, thanks to the opening of a new terminal, the capacity of the airline has almost quadrupled, and the large-scale reconstruction of Bratsk Airport is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
By the end of this year, a bill will be submitted to the State Duma eliminating unjustified surcharges on children's taxi fares. The Ministry of Transport, together with Yandex, is already conducting an experiment aimed at ensuring that passengers with children do not have to overpay for trips. In particular, special preferential promo codes for large families are being tested in Bashkiria. In addition, the agency recalled the entry into force of the requirements for the mandatory availability of child seats.
Vladimir Putin positively assessed the expansion of the routes of unmanned trucks, which now run not only along the M-11 Neva highway, but also along the M-12 Vostok to Chelyabinsk at a distance of almost 2 thousand km. The technology was also successfully tested in international conditions: an unmanned truck crossed the border and drove along the roads of Kazakhstan to Astana..
On the same day, Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The conversation took place in the context of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In addition to the bilateral agenda, the parties touched upon the agreements reached earlier during Vladimir Putin's conversation with US President Donald Trump regarding the supply of Russian diesel fuel. In addition, the leaders discussed the prospects for resolving the crisis situation in the Persian Gulf region.
