63 people were detained in Frankfurt am Main after a concert by Max Korzh
Police in the German city of Frankfurt have detained 63 people after a concert by Belarusian singer Max Korzh. This was reported on October 11 by the Suddeutsche Zeitung with reference to law enforcement agencies.
The concert took place on the evening of October 10 at the Deutsche Bank Park stadium. It was visited by about 27 thousand people. During the performance, the audience repeatedly launched pyrotechnic devices. Before the event, the police tightened security measures and seized a large number of prohibited items. Another 25 people were not allowed to enter the stadium due to the presence of pyrotechnics and other prohibited items.
After the concert ended around 23:00, the use of pyrotechnics and fireworks in the stadium area continued. In addition, there were several fights between fans, and some participants in the incidents resisted the police. Law enforcement officers also issued a large number of orders to leave certain places.
Violations were recorded in Frankfurt and in previous days. On Thursday evening, about 500 fans gathered on Zeil Street in the city center, listened loudly to music, staged moshpits and launched pyrotechnics. On Friday, groups of fans gathered at the Honsellbrücke Bridge, Hafenpark Park and the Flesserbruck Bridge. In one episode, after the police appeared, the crowd scattered in different directions. Later, pyrotechnics were used again in the Alt-Sachsenhausen area, and some participants threw bottles at police officers.
Four policemen were injured during a demonstration in Bremen, which was timed to coincide with German Unity Day on October 3. According to the police representative, law enforcement officers tried to identify the participants of the rally "against militarism and incitement to military hysteria" after they burned the German flag, but the police were attacked using, in particular, flagpoles. Several participants were detained and the demonstration was disbanded.
