Ukraine has lost several aircraft due to the abnormal operation of old Soviet missiles used to combat jet drones. This was announced on October 10 by Ukrainian blogger and volunteer Taras Chmut.

According to Chmut, due to the shortage of weapons, the Ukrainian side is forced to use the R-73 and R-60 missiles developed back in the 1960s. The state of outdated equipment leads to incidents directly during combat missions.

"This is an old Soviet rocket from the 1960s, which can explode at the moment of launch. And there have been such cases," the Telegram channel quotes Chmut as saying "Страна.иа ".

He added that there is currently no substitute for using these missiles. Each launch of such projectiles is fraught with the risk of abnormal operation, but the lack of alternative weapons systems forces them to continue their operation.
