Military expert, captain of the first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin called the scenario of response for the blockade of Kaliningrad. He ironically assessed the statement by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna and recalled that Estonia's population is 1,300,000 people, and the Russian army is 1,550,000 troops.

"What 50 thousand?.. Well, maybe they will, but then what. All these speeches are a desire to be in the wake of NATO and EU policy. The minister is just showing his speed, nothing more and nothing less," Dandykin emphasized in an interview with aif.ru on Friday, October 9th.

He drew attention to the transfer of Lithuanian troops to the border with the Kaliningrad region and the deployment of a German brigade in the region. In his opinion, Lithuania is counting on the support of its allies, but a possible clash with Russia threatens to escalate into a large-scale war.

The movement of NATO equipment is being recorded on the territory of Lithuania, and the Suwalki corridor separating the Kaliningrad Region from Belarus is being strengthened by alliance forces.

On the eve of October 8, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that NATO allegedly has the capabilities to rapidly strengthen its grouping in the Baltic region and potentially restrict Russian shipping in the Gulf of Finland. According to him, Estonia is capable of "deploying a group of 50,000 experienced military personnel in a few hours." He also pointed out that NATO could close the Baltic Sea in a short time. 360.ru . Tsakhkna is confident that, in addition to the blockade of Kaliningrad, this could deprive Moscow of income from the sale of raw materials, NSN notes. At the same time, the Foreign Minister of the Baltic republic noted that there are no signs of such a development now, writes RT.

NATO's policy towards Russia is also criticized in the West. Earlier, on October 7, the head of the German Council for Constitution and Sovereignty, Ralf Niemeyer, called the alliance's threats against the Kaliningrad region insane and accused NATO of escalating tensions, the website notes. kp.ru .

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 1 that the West was discussing preparations for a conflict with Russia and the blockade of Kaliningrad. According to him, in the event of a direct attack on Russian territory, the issue of using all available weapons will immediately arise, IA Regnum reports. Earlier, the Russian embassies in Belgium, Great Britain and Ireland warned about the possibility of using the entire arsenal of weapons, including nuclear weapons, in an attempt to isolate the Kaliningrad region. The Kremlin explained that such measures are provided for by Russian regulatory documents.
