Strangle to readiness: for the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrounded near Volchansk, a period of agony has begun
According to experts interviewed by Izvestia, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began to suffer agony in the Volchansk pocket, which had previously been cut into several parts. Russian troops have completed the mopping up of one of the small encirclement rings north of the village of Rublenoe and have begun fighting for the liberation of the settlements of Varvarovka, Nikolaevka, Lobanovka and Reznikovo, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The enemy failed to cling to the settlements where the defense was prepared in advance, and now they will be systematically destroyed or squeezed out into the open, where it is impossible to provide organized resistance, experts say.
The final phase of the sweep
The troops of the Russian North group are now compressing the encirclement of the Armed Forces formations and expanding the external control zone. Battles are underway in the ring for the settlements of Varvarovka, Nikolaevka, Lobanovka and Reznikovo. In addition, the mopping up of the small encirclement ring in the area north of the village of Rubenoe was completed, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on October 5.
In these battles, the enemy lost over 35 military personnel, an armored combat vehicle, two vehicles and two ground-based robotic complexes.
On the outer ring of the encirclement, our forces are fighting in the areas of Prikolotnoye, Kotovka and Annopolye, the Russian military department noted.
Last week, the Volchansky cauldron was cut into several pieces.
"One of them— near Ruben, was eliminated by our troops," said military expert Vasily Dandykin.
The situation for the enemy in the areas of Varvarovka, Nikolaevka, Lobanovka and Reznikovo is simply catastrophic. The final phase of the cleanup is underway there. From the group that was initially sitting in the cauldron, which is about 2 thousand people, our troops, judging by the dynamics, destroyed much more than half. We can already talk about the agony of the encircled forces and the enemy's breakthrough from the cauldron is not worth waiting for, Vasily Dandykin believes.
— Now the main center of resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has moved to Reznikovo — this is such a geographical center of a once large cauldron, — explained military expert Boris Jerelievsky. — And they have nowhere to break through from there — they will not reach the walls of the boiler. Our drone pilots and artillery are working as accurately as possible, destroying all detected enemy groups. The Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters remain in basements equipped for combat operations. If our stormtroopers entered the village, the enemy will be destroyed.
Outside help will definitely not come, experts say. The Ukrainian Armed Forces failed to establish reliable air supply of their entourage with everything they needed. The air bridge, on which the enemy command had placed special hopes, was cut off by our air defense drone operators and shooters hunting for UAVs.
In recent days, nothing has been reported about attempts to break through even small groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which may indicate that the enemy does not have sufficient forces and good communications to implement such plans, Boris Jerelievsky also noted.
— In the future, the situation for those surrounded will only worsen, — says Vasily Dandykin. — Leaf fall will seriously affect the ability to resist. In a week and a half or two, the leaves will fall and the so-called greenery will disappear: the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as all their movements, will be in full view. Well—placed aerial reconnaissance will instantly detect them, and drones and artillery will destroy them.
Fighters from the so-called Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK, a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) lit up in the environment, Boris Jerelievsky recalled.
"You know, these terrorists won't surrender, so they're just being cleared out,— he stressed.
The presence of units near the Belgorod region may indicate that they were preparing raids on the region, and our encirclement operation simply crossed out these plans.
"They are well aware that they will inevitably have to answer for all the crimes committed and planned," he said.
Dobropolsky specifics
In Dobropillya, a similar situation has developed for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but with its own specifics. While fighting in the Volchansk pocket takes place mainly in rural areas and the private sector, Dobropillya is a typical mining town.
— High-rise buildings, huge industrial zones, lots of underground utilities. The enemy is sitting in basements, hiding in high-rise residential buildings, afraid to stick his nose out. We're knocking them out. Our artillery and drone pilots are working well, which should ensure success in such a situation," said Boris Jerelievsky.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that in Dobropillya, 51st Army assault groups were advancing in the southern and central parts of the city. Units of our Marines advanced in its northern part, and also continued to dislodge the enemy from the territory of the Dobropolskaya mine.
During the day, our fighters liberated 51 buildings in the city, more than 20 militants were destroyed, the Ministry of Defense reported.
"The small losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are a good illustration of the fact that enemy soldiers, as a rule, do not conduct active and coordinated hostilities inside the boiler, but simply try to survive by hiding wherever they have to," the expert explained.
The APU has no success
The Russian army is moving forward in other areas as well. The troops of the Vostok group liberated the village of Samoilovka, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on October 5.
"Having no success at the front, the enemy has intensified terrorist attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure," said military expert Dmitry Litovkin.
The International Atomic Energy Agency has received information about several attacks on facilities near the Zaporizhia NPP (NPP) using unmanned aerial vehicles over the past two weeks, said the agency's Director General Rafael Grossi.
Noting that, according to the information they received, the Zaporozhye thermal power plant located nearby was hit, as a result of which transformers that are vital for external power supply to the nuclear power plant, a radiation monitoring station, and a number of other facilities were damaged. One person was killed and several injured due to these strikes.
—The transfer of the Kiev regime's terrorist activity to peaceful and industrial facilities is a classic sign of exhaustion," Vasily Dandykin said.
However, even here, the enemy's capabilities are decreasing with each passing week. The attacks on Russian refineries announced in recent days have failed. New layered protection systems and air defense complexes and mobile firing groups covering industrial facilities have reduced the effectiveness of attacks by long-range UAVs to almost zero.
