Experts estimated the residual value of Solaris cars after three years of operation

After three years of operation, the Solaris KRX cross hatchback can retain 79.7% of its original cost, while the Solaris KRS sedan can retain 74.1%. "Izvestia" was informed about this on September 29 by the National Agency for Industrial Information (NAPI).

The projected cost loss of the models will be 20.3% and 25.9%, respectively. The cost of owning a Solaris KRS in the Comfort package with a 1.6-liter engine and an automatic transmission for three years is estimated at 30.39 rubles per kilometer. For a Solaris KRX with a similar powertrain, this figure is 28.14 rubles per kilometer.

The calculations were performed for the Moscow region with an annual mileage of 15 thousand km. NAPI also takes into account fuel costs, transport tax, maintenance and repair, purchase of spare parts and a set of tires, as well as insurance for OSAGO and hard hat.

The high residual value of the KRS and KRX models is confirmed by Igor Morzharetto, an auto expert and partner at the "Autostat" analytical agency. According to him, one of the most significant confirmations of the reliability of cars was their demand in the taxi industry.

— These cars are very actively used in taxis, and that says a lot. Taxi companies know how to count money and choose cars, realizing that the mileage will be very high, maintenance costs should remain predictable, and the car itself should work reliably and travel hundreds of thousands of kilometers. Even now, after almost five years, these cars continue to form the basis of the Russian taxi fleet. This is evidence of their amazing survivability," said Morjaretto.

Morgiaretto also noted that the Solaris KRS and KRX have an atmospheric engine designed to use AI-92 gasoline and a classic six-speed automatic transmission. According to the expert, the studied design of the main units provides cars with reliability and predictable maintenance costs.

Morgiaretto recalled that Solaris is a Russian automobile brand, the model line of which traces its lineage back to Korean cars familiar to the Russian market. According to him, the Solaris KRS and KRX are technically completely identical to the Kia Rio and Kia Rio X and . Therefore, when assessing their reliability, experts can rely not only on the experience of operating cars under the Solaris brand, but also on the long-term history of related Korean models.

Carsharing and taxis are becoming one of the most serious tests of strength for cars, as they involve intensive operation, long daily runs and work in different road conditions. "Therefore,"Evgeny Lipovitsky, an auto expert at Gazprombank Autoleasing, told Izvestia that "Solaris models are also in demand in the commercial sector."

According to operational experience, the estimated life of the timing chain is about 200 thousand km, the engine is 300-350 thousand km, the automatic transmission is about 250 thousand km, subject to regular oil change, and the main suspension elements are up to 150 thousand km. The actual figures, of course, depend on the operating mode and conditions. Collectively, these are reliable cars with reasonable maintenance costs. Therefore, they are in demand not only among private buyers, but also among corporate clients who lease cars," Lipovitsky said.
