Beating in a circle: when the Russian army liquidates the Dobropolsky pocket
On the line of contact, Russian troops continue to systematically eliminate militants in three pockets at once — in the Dobropolsky and Volchansky directions, as well as in the Orekhov area. The Dobropolye group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may be eliminated within the next two weeks, experts interviewed by "Izvestia" believe. The tactics of local encirclement allows you to bind enemy forces and forces the Ukrainian command to pull reserves between the front lines. This is also facilitated by attacks on the control and communications system: the defeat of data centers in Kiev complicates the coordination of units and the transfer of reserves, creating additional conditions for the isolation of Ukrainian groups.
The way to the rear of the main agglomeration of the DPR
The Dobropolsky direction remains the most important from an operational point of view, military expert Vasily Dandykin believes. According to him, Russian units are trying to expand the control zone in the area of the city and complicate the supply of Ukrainian forces stationed there.
During the day, the assault groups of the 51st Army advanced in a westerly direction in the northeastern, central and southern parts of Dobropillya. Marine units operated in the eastern part of the city, where they destroyed a fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In just one day, 70 buildings were liberated and up to 30 enemy soldiers were eliminated, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
According to experts interviewed by "Izvestia", the elimination of this outbreak and the final cleansing of the territory may be completed within the next two weeks.
"Successful advance in this area is of strategic importance, as it opens a direct route to the rear of the Slavyansk—Kramatorsk agglomeration, the key fortified area of the enemy in the DPR," Vasily Dandykin explained. — The Ukrainian command's emphasis on holding the "fortress cities" once again underlines the impossibility of holding a solid front line due to a shortage of resources.
Military expert Boris Jerelievsky also believes that further progress in the Dobropolsky direction may create conditions for the coverage of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration from the southwest. According to him, the fighting in this area is forcing the Ukrainian command to deploy additional units and reserves.
Dissection of the Volchansky cauldron and protection of the border area
At the same time, the operation to cut the Volchansky boiler into parts continues. As a result of active offensive actions, the settlement of Khripun in the Kharkiv region came under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. There are battles going on inside the Volchansk ring for the settlements of Nesternoye, Lukashovo, Grachovka and Chopped. At the same time, the external control zone is expanding — the fighting has shifted to the settlement of Prikolotnoye.
The advance in the Sumy region and the formation of the Volchansk pocket made it possible to be proactive and stop the threat of further attacks on the Russian border, Boris Jerelievsky believes.
"The security zone being created here, which Vladimir Putin spoke about earlier, reduces risks for the border area and significantly limits the enemy's use of FPV drones for civilian equipment and vehicles," the expert added.
A similar process is underway in the Orekhov area, where the fighting has shifted directly to the city limits. The advance here opens the gates to Zaporizhia with the prospect of further attacks to the south — in the direction of Nikolaev and Odessa.
— The main importance of these operations is the creation of a colossal total load on the Armed Forces. The enemy is forced to pull apart its already limited reserves, maneuvering between these three sections and the Liman direction. Holding the front in four directions at once is becoming an extremely difficult task for the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the expert concluded.
"Digital detox" and strikes on port logistics
"The dynamics observed today on the line of combat contact, including the formation of local encirclements and the dissection of enemy defenses, is a direct result of the systematic work of the Russian Aerospace Forces and missile forces," military expert Dmitry Kornev told Izvestia. In recent months, complex precision strikes have been carried out against critical parts of the Ukrainian military infrastructure: command posts, logistics hubs, as well as tactical and computer communications facilities.

The strikes also hit the enemy's maritime and coastal logistics. In Odessa, the "Novaya Pochta" logistics center, which was used to store military goods, was hit, and a dry cargo ship with property for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was struck directly at the crossing. Another vessel with military cargo and dual-use materials was hit in the port of Chernomorsk. "Disruption of the operation of digital command and control systems has a critical impact on the stability of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Dmitry Kornev explained. — Modern combat operations are unthinkable without continuous tactical communication. In conditions of a shortage of reserves, the enemy's ability to maneuver directly depends on centralized coordination. When this system collapses, the front loses its integrity, which leads to the formation of boilers.
Commenting on the massive attacks on targets in Ukraine, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kiev regime would have to answer for its last steps.
— Ukraine will have to pay the price for the actions that have taken place in recent months. That's what's happening now," the Kremlin spokesman told reporters.
He added that the Russian Armed Forces continue to strike targets that the command considers appropriate from the point of view of conducting a military operation and ensuring the security of the country.
In addition, the systematic attacks on transport, fuel and energy and port infrastructure were a response to the escalating rhetoric of Vladimir Zelensky, who threatened to attack the Russian energy sector in the winter. Dismantling the enemy's energy potential before winter deprives the Ukrainian military-industrial complex of the ability to repair equipment and produce ammunition, and also makes it almost impossible to meet the military needs of the Kiev regime, the expert concluded.

The tactics of creating environments are not a pre—approved template - their choice is always dictated by the specific situation at the front, military expert Yuri Lyamin explained to "Izvestia".
"In order for a cauldron to form, certain prerequisites must take shape: the low density of enemy positions and the sparsity of his battle formations due to the massive use of drones," the expert noted. — Where the enemy had defensive gaps, our troops managed to push through the flanks and cut off his groups.
At the same time, FPV drones and reconnaissance UAVs play a key role. Today, the cauldron does not always require the physical closure of ground forces around the perimeter. If the remaining corridor is completely shot through and controlled by drones, the enemy finds himself in a tactical and firing environment. The units located in this area are actually isolated: They can neither escape, nor receive reinforcements and ammunition.
