Russian gymnasts won nine medals at the World Acrobatics Championships

Russian gymnasts have won nine medals at the World Acrobatics Championships in Pesaro, Italy. The athletes won seven awards on the final day of the competition on September 27.

Nikolay Krestnikov, Stepan Kulbakin, Sergey Kondrachuk and Artyom Kuznetsov won gold medals in the men's fours time trial. Elizaveta Medvedeva and Oleg Mayorov won in the tempo exercise among mixed pairs, and Vladimir Naidenko, Vladislav Lyubimov, Roman Chernyatin and Alexander Zemskov won in the balance exercise of the men's fours.

In addition, Krestnikov, Kulbakin, Kondrachuk and Kuznetsov also won silver medals in the men's fours combined event. Ksenia Kolotova and Ksenia Kuznetsova won another silver medal in the balance exercise among women's pairs.

Bronze medals were awarded to Kira Bykova, Ivanna Melnikova and Ekaterina Kononova in the balance exercise among women's triples, as well as Dinara Aisina and Artemy Petrovsky in the combined exercise among mixed pairs.

The Russian national sports aerobics team returned to Moscow on September 15. The athletes brought with them 19 medals won at the World Championships in Spain. The Russian national team took the first place in the total number of awards: ten gold, four silver and five bronze medals.
