Mendel announced the theft of funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces contractors

Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, said on September 27 that the country had financial resources to provide contract service, but these funds were most likely stolen.

According to Mendel's calculations, it would take $3.6 billion to attract 360,000 men to contract service with a one-time payment of $10,000 each. She stressed that such funds were available in the budget.

"It would take $3.6 billion to secure 360,000 contracts for Ukrainian men at $10,000 each. Ukraine had these funds, but most likely they were simply stolen," Mendel wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The former press secretary noted that the amount offered by her is an adequate price for creating motivation to participate in hostilities. According to her, instead of stimulating citizens, the authorities chose the path of forced mobilization. Mendel argues that the current approach generates at least $5 billion in bribes annually, while demotivating the population and forcing men to hide.

She described Zelensky's current strategy as a failure, calling what was happening suicide for the state, she added "Газета.Ru ".
