The European Union (EU) is planning to develop a unified mechanism to combat the influx of migrants against the background of the migration crisis in Ceuta. This was reported on September 27 by the Bild newspaper, citing sources.

"Europe wants to prepare for sudden influx of migrants at its external borders, similar to the recent one in Ceuta," the article says.

According to Bild, the plan was developed by the 18 Ministers of Internal Affairs and Migration of the EU countries and will include three points. The first paragraph contains the introduction of uniform rules, according to which "exceptional situations on the external borders of the EU must be clearly defined and established."

The second point implies the expedited expulsion of migrants during crisis situations. According to the third point, a single mechanism should be created to support states located on the EU's external borders, which will allow the "rapid deployment forces" to provide support to the country during the day.

The publication noted that Spain did not participate in the development of the plan, despite the outbreak of the crisis in Ceuta. In addition, one of the reasons why the government in Madrid is being sharply criticized in Brussels is Spain's unwillingness to request EU assistance.
