The Europeans' talk about preparing for war with Russia may lead them to a self-fulfilling prophecy. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference following his participation in the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

"[The Europeans] confirm every day that we must be ready for war by 2030 at the latest," the minister said.

He clarified that the Europeans are investing a lot of money in the production of weapons. Lavrov noted that at some stage, "one of the adventurers in the elite may declare that so many weapons have been accumulated that there is nowhere to put them, and recall the promise to attack Russia."
