Scammers began to extort data under the guise of mortgage subsidies for families

Scammers have started offering families with children non-existent mortgage repayment subsidies in order to gain access to their personal data. This was announced on September 24 by the press service of the "Moshelovka" platform of the Popular Front.

"Scammers launch contextual advertising and messenger channels disguised as government social support services or official bank portals. Families are promised a compensation subsidy to repay the mortgage," analysts told "RIA Novosti".

After the citizens' appeal, the attackers propose to apply through a fake website that imitates the portal of "Public Services". As a result, users may lose access to their accounts, face funds being debited or microloans being issued.

The press service of the "Moshelovka" platform of the Popular Front reported on September 13 that fraudsters began using a new deception scheme, posing as employees of Rosfinmonitoring and payment system security services. They tell the Russians about allegedly suspicious transfers through the Quick Payment System or by QR code and demand to transfer part of the funds to a "verification account."
