When changing a personal signature, citizens do not need to issue a new civilian passport. This was announced on September 20 by the Russian Interior Ministry.

""If a citizen decides to change the signature or its changes occurred naturally, then a new passport does not need to be issued," "RIA Novosti" was informed in the press service of the department.

The Interior Ministry also added that there will be a dash in the passport if the citizen is physically unable to put his signature.

On September 18, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that Russians do not need to apply for a new passport when replacing an internal passport at 20 and 45 years old. The ministry explained that the passport is valid regardless of the replacement of the domestic Russian document. It certifies the identity of a Russian citizen outside the country and is used when leaving the Russian Federation and returning back.
