Russian figure skater Mark Kondratyuk commented on the withdrawal of his neutral status. He said on September 20 that he would continue to fight for his rights.

On August 28, the International Skating Union (ISU) changed the rules for the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the Grand Prix series. At the same time, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, coach Tamara Moskvina announced on August 29 that Russian figure skaters Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov had not received ISU neutral status. The ISU also revoked the previously granted neutral status of figure skater Kamila Valieva.
