New reference books on the average cost of auto parts, standard hours and materials, prepared by the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), will enter into force on September 19, 2026. On average, their prices increased by 8.2% compared to the previous version, the press service of the union reported in its Telegram channel on September 18.

The dynamics of cost changes vary significantly depending on the car brand. The most noticeable growth was recorded for Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda — about 13%. At the same time, the increase in Kia, Daewoo and Chery turned out to be moderate and amounted to 4.6-4.8%. In the middle range are Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Geely and VAZ, where prices increased by 7.5-9.3%.

As explained in the RSA, the price revision is related to the entry into force in July 2026 of the new procedure for the formation of reference books, approved by the Bank of Russia. """Original"" prices were used in calculating the average cost, which are at least 30% of the average median price of all "original" prices, while the prices of analogues of spare parts, if they are 70% cheaper than the "original", were not taken into account.

According to RSA President Evgeny Ufimtsev, the new methodology has led to a more noticeable increase in prices for those brands where the spare parts market remains unstable, including due to logistical constraints. Now the average prices in the directory "are formed on the basis of prices for higher-quality spare parts," he noted. The new procedure will allow car owners to receive fairer compensation for repairs, he is sure.

According to the RSA forecast, as a result of updating the directories, the average amount of CTP payments in terms of spare parts costs will increase by 7-8%. At the same time, despite the increase in payments (in July 2026 they were 14.6% higher than in January), the average cost of the policy increased by 5.7% over the same period, which was associated with the individualization of tariffs in the union.

As reported on September 16, the Bank of Russia (CBR) announced that it would continue to improve CTP reimbursement mechanisms. In particular, it is planned to increase the insurance amount in terms of compensation for damage caused to the life and health of the victim.
