Used best-selling cars named in Russia in August

In the secondary car market of Russia, by the end of August, the "classic" Lada cars became the best-selling. At the end of the summer, Russians bought 18.6 thousand such cars. ""This is stated in the report of the analytical agency "Autostat", which was received by Izvestia on September 18.

The top three also included representatives of the domestic brand — Lada Samara 2 (13 thousand units) and Priora (12.5 thousand units).

Kia Rio became the most popular among used foreign cars in August (11.8 thousand units), and it has a market growth (+10%) compared to the July results, while the remaining nine showed a decrease in the range from 5.2% to 8.6%.

Lada Granta is in fifth place, and Lada 2110 is in sixth. Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Solaris, Lada Granta and Ford Focus rounded out the top ten.

Compared to August 2025, Lada Granta (+10.1%) and Toyota Corolla (+6.1%) demonstrated positive dynamics along with Kia Rio (+6.3%). The remaining seven models were "in the red", and Lada Classic lost the most during the year (-32.6%).

The way up: cars have doubled in price in five years

The ruble exchange rate and lower discounts may lead to further price increases.

As previously reported on this day, in August 2026, 518.2 thousand used passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 5.6% less than a month earlier and 8.4% lower than the result of August last year.
