The American analyst pointed to the high level of organization of elections in Russia.

American political commentator and analyst Stephen Samarin flew from the United States to Russia to personally familiarize himself with the organization of public monitoring of the State Duma elections. He told "Izvestia" about his impressions on September 18.

"We also have elections very soon, and we have a lot to learn from you. Therefore, I hope that the next three days will be very productive and interesting," Samarin said.

The Florida-based analyst said he plans to exchange views with Russian and foreign colleagues during the visit. He attributed his particular interest in the organization of the electoral process in Russia, among other things, to the upcoming elections in the United States.

Samarin also drew attention to the large number of foreign observers present at the State Duma elections. Russian legislation provides for the accreditation of foreign and international observers by the Central Election Commission.

Within three days, Russians will elect governors, federal and regional deputies.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Irina Yarovaya, after voting at polling station No. 16 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, said that participation in the elections is a personal contribution of every citizen to the future and development of the country. According to her, the elected deputies from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad and the reunified regions should work and act as a team together with the president.

Elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation are held from September 18 to 20. The Central Election Commission has registered 4,436 candidates on federal lists and single-mandate constituencies. "United Russia" party has the largest number of representatives — 389. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation is represented by 329 candidates, "New People" — 295, LDPR — 234.
