10 bears were spotted in Khakassia last night

At least ten bears were spotted overnight in the city of Abaza in the Republic of Khakassia, two of which were eliminated. This was announced on September 18 by Deputy head of the region Dmitry Buchenik in the "Maks" messenger.

"10 bears were seen in the city, two had to be killed," the report says.

The deputy head of the region also added that predators are most often found in rural communities, and urged residents of the region to limit visits to dachas.

On September 17, the Republican Service for Supervision of Natural Resources of Buryatia (Burprirodnadzor) said that 12 bears were shot dead in the region during the day, posing a danger to humans. During the day, the department received 29 complaints about the release of bears in populated areas. State hunting inspectors, together with teams of hunters, carried out work in the suburbs of Ulan-Ude, as well as in Kurumkansky, Bichursky, Kabansky, Kyakhtinsky, Zakamensky, Pribaikalsky, Dzhidinsky and Zaigraevsky districts.

The press service of the main directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Irkutsk region reported on the same day that two berry pickers died in the Kirensky district as a result of a bear attack. According to the agency, three residents of Kirensk went to the forest near the village of Krasnoyarovo, located more than 80 km from the regional center. There, the men were attacked by a bear. Two of them, aged 65 and 55, died, and the third managed to escape and tell about the incident. The hunters who arrived at the scene used weapons, but the bear managed to escape.
