- Rosselkhoznadzor announced the termination of the import of seeds from some countries to Russia
The Rosselkhoznadzor announced the termination of the import of seeds and planting materials from laboratories in Mexico, the Czech Republic and Moldova to Russia. The relevant document was published on September 14 on the agency's website.
"The Rosselkhoznadzor informs about the termination of the import of seeds and planting material to Russia, accompanied by documents issued by seed laboratories in Mexico, the Czech Republic and Moldova," the message says.
In September 2026, the competence period of three laboratories expired: CNRDOGM of Mexico, the Central Phytosanitary Laboratory of Moldova and the reference Laboratory of the Czech Republic. These laboratories were the only ones in their countries whose competence was confirmed by the Rosselkhoznadzor after the audit in 2023.
A repeat audit was not conducted due to the lack of applications. Import of seed material with the documents of these laboratories is not possible until the re-audit. The agency notified the government agencies of all three countries. At the same time, the Rosselkhoznadzor clarified that seeds from there can be supplied with documents from laboratories in other countries that have been audited.
On August 12, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture announced that due to current logistical constraints, it was working on new routes and directions for exporting domestic agricultural products. First of all, the work will be carried out in the Rostov region, where early grain harvesting has already been completed and a high export potential has been formed.
