Trump has declared a "terrible" conspiracy against AI and data centers
On September 14, US President Donald Trump said that a "terrible" conspiracy was underway against artificial intelligence (AI) and data centers.
"There is a terrible conspiracy going on against AI and data centers. <...> Conspiracy theorists, traitors, traitors and informants, beware!" he wrote on the Truth Social network.
In addition, Trump noted that the only control tool that AI needs is a smart president, which the United States has.
The head of state added that his administration had stopped attempts to commit "bad or potentially bad deeds" by individuals associated with the AI industry. As an example, he cited Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, who, according to Trump, is now pretending to be a "perfect little angel."
The Axios portal reported on the same day that the United States began to develop emergency shutdown mechanisms for neural network systems that can prevent dangerous technology behavior without human intervention. The reason for the relevant work, as specified, was the warnings issued to the world by the researchers of the organization Anthropic about the risks of the emergence of AI systems capable of independently performing tasks without control or pursuing goals not provided for by the developers.
On September 12, the head of Tesla and SpaceX, American billionaire Elon Musk, supported Apple's call to slow down the pace of AI development. Sam Altman, head of OpenAI, joined the discussion of the initiative. He also agreed with Amodea's position on the need to meet the challenges of the times.
