"We condemn the introduction of unilateral coercive measures contrary to international law and reiterate that such measures, including in the form of unilateral economic sanctions and secondary sanctions, have far—reaching negative consequences for human rights," the document says on the Kremlin's website.

The declaration emphasizes that such restrictions disproportionately affect the poor and people in vulnerable situations, and can also exacerbate the digital divide and environmental problems.

"We call for the abolition of such illegal measures that undermine international law, the principles and purposes of the UN Charter," the statement said.
