The Russian Ministry of Education and Science will make changes to the university admission procedure, if necessary. This was reported on September 9 by TASS with reference to the ministry's response to the appeal of the chairman of the Duma Committee on Health Protection, Sergei Leonov.

The ministry said that after the end of the admission campaign, they will study the situation with the admission of applicants without entrance tests and, if necessary, consider adjusting the current admission rules to educational organizations.

It is clarified that Leonov proposed to establish a single procedure for universities, in which the winners of the Olympics and graduates who apply based on the results of the Unified State Exam would have separate quotas for budget places.

Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Elena Yampolskaya announced on August 6 that Russia plans to introduce a unified standardized entrance test in Russian for foreign citizens entering universities. According to her, the government has already prepared a draft concept for the unified state exam. After the completion of the public discussion and consideration of the document by the expert community, the Ministry of Education and Science should prepare a corresponding bill.
