Galina Mishenina, the 1976 Olympic rowing medalist, died.

The bronze medalist of the 1976 Olympic Games in rowing, Galina Mishenina, died on September 7 at the age of 76. This was announced on September 8 by the Russian Rowing Federation (FGSR).

"The Russian Rowing Federation expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Galina Andreevna. Blessed memory!" — says the message in the Telegram channel of the federation.

The cause of death is not specified. Information about the date, time and place of the farewell will be published later.

Galina Mishenina, a USSR Master of Sports of international class, was born on August 5, 1950 in Solnechnogorsk, Moscow region. In 1975, she competed at the European Championships, and in 1976 she became the USSR champion in the coxswain fours. Mishenina competed at the Summer Olympics in Montreal and won a bronze medal as part of the raspashnaya four, which included Lyudmila Krokhina, Nadezhda Sevostyanova, Anna Pasokha and helmsman Lidiya Krylova.
