There have been 310 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.
Over the past day, 310 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 23 people were killed and 375 injured. 14 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on September 3 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
As a result of 82 accidents involving pedestrians, nine people were killed, and 77 others were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured are 18 child pedestrians, 10 of them were injured when crossing the roadway in unintended places. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 38 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 44 outside their area of operation.
In one of the villages of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, in the early morning, a 20-year-old female passenger car driver with less than two years of driving experience did not provide an advantage in traffic at an unregulated intersection of equivalent roads and ran over a 59-year-old woman who was riding a 1,500 kW electric bicycle. A female cyclist was hospitalized with injuries.
26 bus accidents were recorded, in which three people died, and 24 more road users needed medical help. 10 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers. 42 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 45 young road users were injured, including 14 passengers and four motor vehicle drivers. One teenager driving a passenger car was killed.
So, in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, on 169 km of the Urai city — Ustye-Aha station regional highway, a 15-year-old motorist drove off the roadway at speed at night, followed by a vehicle rollover. As a result of an accident, a ninth-grader was killed while driving. Due to his young age, he had not previously been issued a driver's license.
The State Traffic Inspectorate again called on parents to strictly monitor and prevent, rather than encourage, attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of accessing the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles, prohibiting the management of cars and motor vehicles without the appropriate right and driving skills. Lack of control over children's behavior and leisure activities, especially in the evening, often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users. Administrative liability in the amount of 30 thousand rubles is provided for providing the opportunity to drive cars and motor vehicles for children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category.
"Parents need to instill discipline and responsibility in their children. Adult road users should use their own example to demonstrate safe behavior on the road. In addition, we urge motorists to strictly follow the rules of the road and be more careful when driving, especially in the morning and evening. Extreme care should be taken when leaving a secondary road onto the main one, passing intersections, especially unregulated or with roundabouts. Never rush to "skip" them as quickly as possible, thereby interfering with other road users," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
On August 27, events of the All-Russian social campaign "Promoting Safety" aimed at reducing the number of accidents at intersections started in Yakutia. The region has become one of 40 in Russia where a social campaign will be held, implemented within the framework of the federal project "Road Safety" of the national project "Infrastructure for Life".
