Trump nominated Hung Kao to head the US Navy
US President Donald Trump has nominated the country's acting Secretary of the Navy, Hung Kao, to this post on a permanent basis. The head of the White House published a corresponding statement on September 1 on his Truth Social network.
"I am pleased to nominate the true warrior Hung Kao as the next secretary of the Navy," Trump wrote.
The American president also called on the upper house of Congress to carry out the approval procedure as soon as possible so that Hung Kao could begin full-fledged work. The timing of the consideration of his candidacy in the Senate has not yet been announced.
Pentagon Press Secretary Sean Parnell, Assistant Secretary of War for Public Affairs, announced on April 22 that US Secretary of the Navy John Phelan was resigning from his post. He clarified that Hung Kao would take his place.
