Two men became victims of a paraglider crash in the Sakhalin Region: 46-year-old Mikhail D. and 56-year-old Alexey R. A source told Izvestia on September 1.

"By the investigative authorities <... A pre—investigation check has been organized on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, which negligently caused the death of a person")," the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said.

Previously, the paraglider crashed earlier in the day at an abandoned airfield 2.5 km north of the village of Bereznyaki. Investigators and criminologists are working at the scene, they are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, a 30-year-old girl was injured on August 17 when a paraglider collided with a power line. According to the victim, everything was fine at first, but then the glider began to descend sharply and crashed into the wires. The girl only remembered a flash and a sharp pain in her arm and leg.
