Rapper Ptakha (real name David Nuriev), is a Russian hip-hop artist, former member of the band Centr and one of the founders of the musical association "CAO Records". The musician became widely known as a member of Centr along with Guf and Slim. In 2008, the song "City of Roads", recorded with the participation of Basta, brought the band a victory at the MTV Russia Music Awards in the category "Best hip-hop Project". About Ptakha's childhood, career, personal life and court cases — in the material of Izvestia.

Early years and education

David Nuriyev was born on June 10, 1981 in Baku. The father of the future rapper was Armenian, and his mother was Azerbaijani. Nuriyev later recalled his childhood as a happy time, but in the late 1980s and early 1990s his family had to leave Baku amid the Karabakh conflict. According to the artist, his house was shelled, and his father was once beaten on the way to Karabakh. When David was about eight or nine years old, the family moved to Moscow.

The adaptation in the capital turned out to be difficult. Nuriev said that at school he faced prejudice because of his background, and negative statements, according to him, were made by teachers, among others. As a child, he practiced karate, and around the age of 13-14 he began to get involved in hip-hop. Among the performers he grew up with, Ptakha named 2Pac, Onyx, Ice-T, Public Enemy and Ice Cube.

Ptakh's pseudonym also appeared in his teenage years. According to one common version, friends compared Nureyev to the character Tupac Shakur from Jeff Pollack's film "Above the Ring", known in Russian as the Bird. Later, the actor used another stage name — Nerdy.

Career

Nureyev's musical career began in 1996. Then he became a member of the rap collective B.J.D., which later became known as Les Miserables. In 2000, Ptakha met Alexei Dolmatov, the future Guf, on the set of the Casta band's music video for the track "We Take It on the Streets." Later, Ptakha and Guf merged into Centr, joined by Vadim Motylev, known as Slim.

In 2009, Guf left Centr. In October of the same year, Ptakha released his first solo studio album, About Nothing. The musician later said that he perceived this record as an opportunity to speak out about his accumulated experiences. At the same time, he developed the CAO Records association, which he remained co-owner of until 2017, and released music both under the name Ptakha and under the pseudonym Nerdy.

A few years later, the Centr members restored their relationship. In 2014, the band's reunion began, which, according to Slim, was largely facilitated by Ptaha. In 2016, the trio released the album "System", but soon the band broke up again. Ptakha explained this by saying that over the years the participants had become too different and could no longer come to a common vision of music.

Personal life

In the late 1990s, Nureyev met a girl named Karina, who became his first wife. On April 25, 2000, the couple had a daughter, Nicole. Soon the parents separated. In subsequent years, Ptakha's relationship with her eldest daughter was not easy, but in an interview in 2023, the rapper said that they reconciled and regularly communicate again.

Later, model Lana Reutova became the rapper's chosen one. In 2019, they got married, and in April 2022, the couple had a daughter, Siyana. A few months later, the couple separated and filed for divorce, but subsequently Nureyev and Reutova restored their relationship. In February 2025, they married again. In February 2026, Ptakha became a father for the third time — the couple had a son, who was named Aaron.

Conflicts and court cases

One of the most famous conflicts of Ptakha was the long-term confrontation with Guf after the collapse of Centr. In February 2018, the musicians met at the Versus Battle venue. According to the results of the judges' vote, Guf won with a score of 3:0. This battle became one of the most notable public episodes of their protracted conflict.
