Working parents can receive a tax deduction for paid clubs, sections and additional educational activities for children and return up to 14.3 thousand rubles per year for each child. This was announced on August 31 by State Duma Deputy Dmitry Svishchev.

"Working parents, guardians and carers who pay personal income tax can receive a tax deduction for paid clubs and sections attended by their children, as well as for additional classes in kindergarten. With a personal income tax rate of 13%, you can return up to 14.3 thousand rubles per child," the parliamentarian said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

To receive a deduction, the organization in which the child is engaged must have a license for educational activities. Parents can take advantage of the benefit up to the age of majority of the child, and with full—time education - up to and including the age of 24.

According to Svishchev, the deduction applies to expenses for paid sections and clubs, including music, drawing and foreign language classes, preparatory courses in kindergarten and additional classes in public and private educational institutions.

The maximum amount of expenses from which a deduction is provided for the education of one child is 110 thousand rubles per year. This limit is common to both parents. At the same time, the costs of food, child care, and utilities are not deductible.

To make a refund, you must make sure that the educational organization has a license, receive a certificate of educational services after payment, and submit an application through the taxpayer's personal account on the FTS website or the Gosuslugi portal. According to the deputy, it is also possible to apply for a deduction through an employer.

Svishchev added that starting in 2024, the procedure has been simplified and instead of a lot of checks, a certificate of payment for educational services is sufficient. You can apply for the previous three years. In 2026, you can apply for a deduction for 2025, 2024 and 2023.

For families with 10 or more children, special criteria of need should be established when prescribing social support measures. On August 29, Tatyana Butskaya, First deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, addressed Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, with such a proposal. Butskaya also considers it necessary to review the property criteria, taking into account the number of children, the purpose of the land plot and the family's real need for vehicles.
