Axios learned about the proposal of the head of the CIA to hold a meeting between Trump, Putin and Zelensky

The director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Ratcliffe, during a secret visit to Moscow this week, proposed holding a trilateral meeting with the participation of American leader Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky. This was reported on August 29 by the Axios portal, citing two sources familiar with the situation.

According to the newspaper's interlocutors, one of the goals of Ratcliffe's trip was to try to find out whether the heads of the Russian special services could help convince the Russian side to resume negotiations with Ukraine through the mediation of the United States.

It is noted that this was the first time that the head of the CIA personally participated in diplomatic efforts to find a solution to the Ukrainian conflict.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in a comment to The Washington Post on August 26, said that Ratcliffe's visit to Moscow was related to contacts between the special services.
