The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia has updated the methodology for determining the number of budget places in universities. The changes are related to the transition to a seven-year forecast of the economy's need for specialists. This was announced on August 30 by the press service of the department.

"The changes made to the methodology are related to the transition of the Russian Ministry of Labor to a seven—year forecasting of the personnel needs of the Russian economy," the report said, quoted by RIA Novosti.

The Ministry noted that the new approach will make it possible to more accurately take into account the regional structure of the personnel forecast and reduce the bureaucratic burden on the subjects of Russia when collecting the necessary data.

Due to the increase in the forecast period, the set of information that the Ministry of Education and Science uses to assess the need for graduates and calculate the number of budget places at all levels of higher education will change.

In addition, a special indicator will be added to the methodology, which will take into account the structure of the economy's replacement personnel needs. This will make it possible to more accurately determine the areas of specialist training that are in demand in the regions.

The press service of the Ministry of Education of Russia announced on August 20 that 9th grade graduates who have not passed the state final certification will be able to get a working profession for free. Training programs for workers and employees will be funded from regional budgets. At the same time, ninth graders still have the opportunity to continue mastering the basic general education program.
