By the beginning of the school year, large and low-income families, families with disabled children, and in some regions, families of their participants can receive regional payments. This was announced on August 28 by Yulia Finogenova, Professor at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

"Large and low-income families with school children and families with school-age disabled children can count on regional payments for the new school year. In a number of regions, payments are also provided for single parents and families of their participants," Finogenova said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

She noted that there is no single federal payment by September 1, and the regions set the conditions for support. Assistance can be provided with money or in the form of free textbooks and meals. The amount of payments depends on the region: for example, in Moscow it is 14,827 rubles per child, in the Tyumen region — 18,371 rubles, in the Moscow region — up to 13,020 rubles.

On August 17, Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia Party, announced that the faction had submitted to the State Duma a bill on annual payments to families with children before the start of the school year. It is proposed to pay benefits to families with children every year by September 1: 31.3 thousand rubles for each student, 47 thousand rubles for the poor, 54.9 thousand rubles for low—income families with disabled children.
