Rescuers have been unable to control a forest fire near Yalta for almost a week.

The extinguishing of a forest fire in the Outka microdistrict in Yalta has not stopped for a week. The work is complicated by strong winds, dry and hot weather.

IA SevastopolMedia, with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Crimea, writes that wind gusts reach 16 m/s at the fire site. Rescuers are laying sleeve lines through a remote mountainous and wooded area.

Water is brought by special equipment, water trucks and motor vehicles. The forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are distributed according to functionality and purpose.

By his decree, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, awarded the fire the status of a regional emergency.

The first reports of a fire in Outka appeared on August 21. During the day, its area increased to 50 hectares due to strong winds that spread the fire over long distances.
