The most ambitious TV premiere in September will certainly be the production based on the Strugatsky brothers' novel "It's Hard to be a God", which brought together a whole galaxy of stars, including Fyodor Bondarchuk, Sergei Bezrukov and Leonid Yarmolnik, who this time lost the main role to Serbian actor Alexander Radojicic. Anton, an employee of the Institute of History, an earthling, goes to the planet Arkanar, stuck in the dark Ages. His mission is to study the local culture, supporting scientists who can lead Arkanar on the path of progress. He lives on the planet under the name of Don Rumata of Estor and, in addition to the mission assigned to him, is trying to uncover a secret that personally affected him: his father disappeared without a trace on Arkanar, and Anton is trying to find his tracks. But gradually he finds himself embroiled in palace intrigues that affect not only Earth's agents, but the entire planet...
Unlike Alexey German, who showed Arkanar as a sewer with Bosch characters swarming in it, the creators of the series relied on the aesthetics of the product. Despite the fact that the show employs a whole galaxy of star actors — from Fyodor Bondarchuk to Sergei Bezrukov — Alexander Radojicic, a little-known Serb in Russia, was chosen for the role of Don Rumata, a man in his prime with an interesting and not yet familiar face on the screen. Costumes and armor, swords and spears, the interiors of aristocratic chambers and the streets of Arkanar with their obvious medieval flavor — everything caresses the viewer's gaze, nothing darkens the mood. The filming of the series took place in Iran, and it also became an excellent choice — the Arkanarian landscapes are fascinating.

Ivan Khvatov, a retired military officer, has been serving as a district supervisor in a remote area for several years and is already considering quitting his service when the town is shocked by the brutal murder of an entire family. Local nobleman Dobuzhinsky, a gambler with numerous gambling debts, falls under suspicion. However, Olga's sister, who came to visit him, is convinced of her brother's innocence and begins her own investigation, the purpose of which is to protect the honor of the Dobuzhinskys. Eventually, he and Khvatov team up to find the killer, along the way revealing many dark secrets of the city's inhabitants...
Retro detectives in a lace-silk, saber-epaulet entourage, with the crunch of fresh snow and French bread are now in fashion, and an appeal to the genre in the format of a series is only welcome. However, the alarming thing is that even in the short trailer, historical inconsistencies are quite striking. The textured Alexander Ustyugov ("Stolypin", "Love of the Soviet Union") in the role of Khvatov is on the screen a perfect Apache with an unbuttoned shirt collar, while the police officers in the service were exclusively in uniform. Evidently, he had appropriated investigative powers for himself out of the same daredevilness, because the district's charter prescribed only assistance to police investigators — conducting his own investigation was excluded. And as a rule, there were no police officers in small towns themselves — there were enough district bailiffs, who, by the way, were also willingly entrusted with investigative actions.

The script for "A Tale of Two Cities" is based on the novel of the same name by Charles Dickens. Director Richard Clarke ("Outlander") managed to clearly maintain a balance of detailed historical and everyday descriptions, characteristic of the writer's unhurried, verbose prose, and the energetic course of the plot, which the modern viewer demands from a worthy spectacle. The historical realities of the 18th century are drawn out with respectful meticulousness — from costumes to the atmosphere of suffocating narrow streets, dim light from lanterns and wooden benches of courtrooms darkened by time. The romantic Darnay will be played by the handsome Kit Harington ("Game of Thrones"), and his rival-ally will be played by the equally handsome Francois Civil, known for the role of D'Artagnan in a recent French production. A time—tested classic melodrama - what else do you need to pass the September evening?

Screen star Maxim Ladoshkin arrives in a provincial town to star in an advertisement for a local bank owned by the most influential local businessman. However, a short-term business trip instantly turns into a criminal detective when, during a celebration on the occasion of the arrival of a metropolitan celebrity, the bank is seized, and its owner almost falls victim to the raiders. Suspicions are skillfully dumped on Ladoshkin, and the investigation is entrusted to police Major Nadezhda, who is nine months pregnant. Ladoshkin has to join the investigation to clear his name and find the real criminals, and this investigation changes a lot in his life attitudes...
The comedy detective genre, for all its unpretentiousness, is quite difficult to stage: it is important not to overdo the quality of the jokes, otherwise the viewer will start laughing not at the characters, but at their creators. Meanwhile, the authors of "Almost a true detective" are pushing on the gas so that the pedal bends. The chubby Maxim Lagashkin with kind eyes, who played Ladoshkin, looks ridiculous in his angel costume with golden feathers, but is frankly ridiculous in the bank's advertisement. A nine-month-old woman bravely rushing into battle is certainly a reference to the Coen brothers' "Fargo," but it's not exactly a fun and somewhat forgotten film by the general public. A popular actor in a fashionable outfit, drowned in a dirty ditch, probably looks funny, but plunging a police chief with a bandaged head into the same place is somehow unnecessary. However, Gosha Kutsenko played the role of the boss, and he's funny in any weather.

She is predicted to have a great future and Olympic medals, but her promising sports career collapses overnight when her father finds himself at the center of a scandal and becomes accused of financial fraud. To stop being the center of attention of the crowd and numerous journalists and let the noise die down, Tegan and his mother move to a small provincial town. Here the girl returns to her favorite sport, but there is a problem: there is no women's rowing team at her new school. She has to join a men's team of not the highest level, turning out to be the main topic of gossip among male athletes who are not ready to recognize the girl's right to a place in the team. Complicating the situation is the fact that two popular boys start fighting for Tegan's attention...
Sports melodrama is not a super—popular genre, but it is consistently successful. The Canadian showrunners approach the topic with their characteristic locality: without the Olympic spotlights, the fierce enthusiasm of the fans and a single competition on which everything depends. It's just school conflicts and school romances, gradually developing series after series. The low-key surroundings and closeness, however, do not spoil the series, on the contrary: a school sports story with elements of adolescent psychology will surely appeal not only to teenagers, but also to those whom marketers call young adults — an unsuitable 30-year-old who has not been able to break up with teenage habits and has not forgotten his own school novels. It's going to be nice.
