The Gripen fighter of the Hungarian Armed Forces crashed in the central part of the country. This was announced on August 24 by Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar.

"For reasons that are still unknown, a few minutes ago, a Hungarian Gripen military fighter crashed near [the city of] Szolnok," the Hungarian leader wrote on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).

Magyar reported that the pilot ejected and survived, the civilian infrastructure was not damaged. The Hungarian Defense Minister went to the scene of the incident. An investigation is underway into the causes of the crash.
