A scandal broke out in St. Petersburg around a clothing store that was on the verge of closure after the dismissal of an employee on the day of her grandfather's death. The publication of details of the incident on social media caused a massive protest by users, which led to multimillion-dollar losses for the company. This was announced on August 16 by the 78 TV channel.

Tamara, a former employee, said on her blog that she faced harassment from management instead of sympathy. According to her, her employers wanted her to "burn in hell," changed the names of her accounts to avoid criticism, and threatened her with lawsuits. The girl also stated that representatives of the store tried to intimidate her with messages about her possible suicide.

Netizens supported the dismissed employee, massively leaving negative reviews about the store and calling the actions of the management immoral. In response, the business owners recorded a video message in which they acknowledged that their business, which had existed for 15 years, was practically destroyed. They reported the loss of hundreds of millions of rubles, as well as the blocking of accounts and accounts.

One of the representatives of the organization explained the harsh reaction by the fact that at the time of the news of the tragedy he was driving on the ring road and could not quickly find a replacement for the employee. The store owner tearfully stated that the reason for the dismissal was the "loss of trust" and the disrespectful attitude of a subordinate. At the same time, she stressed her willingness to pay fines, but called the scale of the consequences inadequate to the situation.

"I really want to pay a fine to the labor inspectorate if I have violated something. If Toma needs money, pay her for these 5 days, but I can't imagine how we can continue <...> Hundreds of millions in losses due to the fact that we unlawfully fired an employee. Do you think this is adequate? I think not," the store owner shared her opinion.

She added that she had invested her whole life in this business, but now the feelings of a former employee turned out to be more important to the public than the fate of the company.

After the incident, the brand closed its social media pages and began deleting negative comments, and in public correspondence with a former employee recommended that she "ask her mom what work is" and stated that "grandfather would be unhappy with you," adds "Газета.Ru ".

On August 3, a court in Moscow declared illegal the dismissal of a pianist, whom the orchestra fired after a probation period due to an unsatisfactory level of performing skills. The employer claimed that the musician could not keep up with the tempo and rhythm, poorly read the notes, was late for rehearsals and inaccurately followed the instructions of the artistic director. However, the court concluded that these claims had not been properly substantiated.
