Lavrov's interview on international events

Lavrov gave an interview to the Vesti news agency, in which he touched upon the topic of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on civilian targets and the course of the negotiation process to resolve the conflict. Thus, the minister confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to receive US President Donald Trump's special envoy Stephen Witkoff and the son-in-law of the American leader Jared Kushner in Moscow. At the same time, he pointed out the importance of "what the American representatives will come to the country with." At the same time, the head of the department stressed that Russia would not stoop to Kiev's methods, but would continue to act harshly to destroy everything that fuels Ukraine's military machine from the West.

In addition, the diplomat drew attention to the fact that the public silence of the United States and Turkey after the attacks on the ships and infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium is indicative. Lavrov added that Russia had referred questions to the US State Department about US involvement in strikes on Russian territory. The appeal of the Yabloko Party

The Supreme Court of Russia has accepted an appeal from representatives of the Yabloko party, which was withdrawn from the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The press service of the political association announced its intention to file a corresponding petition four days ago. Yabloko was removed from the election on August 10, a few days after the leader of the Rodina party, Alexei Zhuravlev, accused it of foreign financing from the structures of businessman Mikhail Khodorkovsky (recognized as a foreign agent, included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation).

Russia's special operation in Ukraine

The Russian army continued to conduct a special operation in Ukraine. Thus, units of the Center group of forces liberated the settlement of Novonikolaevka in the Donetsk People's Republic. Air defense systems, in turn, shot down more than 7,000 drones, eight Flamingo long-range cruise missiles, 16 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 64 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the Russian army destroyed a gas station used by the enemy in the Chernihiv region, hit a logistics complex in the Kiev region, and also struck the Izmail port railway station, which was used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Putin held a meeting with members of the Security Council

The President held an operational meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council. During the meeting, issues of preserving traditional cultural values were discussed, and the head of state informed the participants about the results of the Pacific Fleet exercises. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Secretary of the Security Council Sergei Shoigu, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov.
