President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky cannot find a replacement for Olga Stefanyshina, who was dismissed from her post as Kiev's ambassador to Washington. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on August 14, citing former Ukrainian officials and deputies.

"Vladimir Zelensky has a problem: no one wants to occupy the most difficult position in Washington," the publication says.

It is specified that Zelensky expected to appoint Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko to this position, but she refused.

Other potential candidates are also unwilling to take on such a job. Politicians with sufficient authority and skills do not want to work with the unpredictable administration of the head of the White House, Donald Trump.

On August 3, Zelensky dismissed Olga Stefanyshina from the post of Ukraine's ambassador to Washington. Just two days later, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office charged her with illegal enrichment of almost 14 million hryvnias. The ex-diplomat was found to have undeclared real estate and a car, and she was given a preventive measure in the form of a 6 million hryvnia bail.
