The neighbor of the suspect in Khotin's murder told the details of the incident
After a brawl between men in the entrance of a house on Govorova Street in the Mozhaisk district of Moscow, the landing was covered in blood. A local resident told Izvestia about this on August 12.

"I heard a noise outside my apartment, similar to the sounds of a struggle. A couple of minutes later, I heard men's screams on the stairs, and literally immediately the bell rang at my door. When I opened it, I saw that everything was covered in blood," the woman explained.
According to preliminary information from a source in Izvestia, the incident occurred on the night of August 10 in the apartment of 33-year-old Alexander Khotin, the son of former Russian Minister of Regional Development and ex-vice Governor of St. Petersburg Igor Albin. According to his information, Khotin quarreled with an acquaintance at home and stabbed a 54-year-old opponent with a knife several times. The man managed to get out into the entrance, from where he was taken away by doctors. However, a few hours later he died in a medical facility.
According to preliminary data, the suspect was detained on August 11 in Mozhaisk, Moscow region, and a bloody knife was found in his apartment.
On August 5, a man killed his wife in the capital out of jealousy. According to the Izvestia source, the quarrel occurred after the arrival of the guests at the apartment. The man attacked his wife after she tried to hide in the room. The attacker kicked down the door and entered with a knife, after which he inflicted over five wounds on the woman.
