The media reported on the detention of UN mission staff in Afghanistan

Afghan intelligence officers have detained two employees of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in Herat. This was reported on August 11 by the Afghanistan International TV channel, citing informed sources.

"Taliban intelligence detained two employees of the UNAMA human rights department as they were leaving their office in Herat," the article says.

According to the portal, the detention occurred after the staff of the human rights department of the mission prepared material about the detentions of women and interviewed several detainees.

The TV channel notes that it has contacted the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan for comment, but has not yet received a response. Representatives of the Taliban administration also did not comment on the information about the detention of employees.
