The military of Russia and Mongolia held a cultural exchange at Selenga-2026

As part of the joint Russian-Mongolian exercises Selenga-2026, events dedicated to cultural exchange between the military personnel of the two countries were held at the training ground near Erdenet. This was announced on August 11 by the press service of the Eastern Military District.

The servicemen introduced each other to the national traditions and dishes of their countries. Then they joined mixed teams and took part in various sports, including volleyball, basketball, shooting, relay races, tug of war, Mongolian wrestling "Buh" and archery "Num sum".

"All the teams were joint. Both servicemen of the Russian Federation and soldiers of Mongolia participated in each team. I believe that such events definitely benefit the friendly relations between our countries," said Lieutenant Colonel Bulat Dolsonov, Assistant Commander of the Combined Arms Army for Physical Training.

The event ended with performances by creative teams from Russia and Mongolia. The military personnel of the two countries saw concert performances demonstrating the cultural diversity and traditions of both peoples.

The Russian-Mongolian Selenga-2026 exercise is of particular importance: It is dedicated to countering international terrorism and is held in the year of the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. About 700 military personnel and about 200 pieces of equipment are involved in the exercises. During the maneuvers, the military of Russia and Mongolia will work out joint actions within the framework of the tasks set.

On July 6, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that military personnel of the reconnaissance units of the 201st Guards Military Base of the Central Military District had practiced combat skills at the Lyaur mountain range in the Republic of Tajikistan, taking into account the experience of a special military operation.
