The US administration has reached agreements with the Syrian and Israeli authorities on the removal of nuclear materials from a facility in Syria by employees of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This was reported by the Axios portal, citing sources.

"The IAEA will soon remove the nuclear materials stored at a secret facility in Syria, after the administration of [US President Donald] Trump has reached an understanding with Syria and Israel," the publication says.

It is reported that in the end, the United States and Israel decided to enlist the assistance of the Syrian government to export the materials. The importance of the situation stems from the fact that the Trump administration and the IAEA sought to conclude a diplomatic agreement as soon as possible that would allow the materials to be preserved and prevent further escalation between Israel, Syria and potentially Turkey around this facility.
