Scammers are offering to cash out the "Pushkin card" on the eve of the new school year. This was announced on August 11 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for public control and work with citizens' appeals.

"In the preparatory rush for September 1, scammers are actively trying to bait parents and students in order to extort funds. One of these ways is to offer to cash out a "Pushkin card," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to Masharov, the attackers send SMS messages from phishing sites, where they offer assistance in cashing out money. When clicking on the link, the user enters personal and bank information, after which he loses money and personal information.

Masharov stressed that according to the current legislation, it is impossible to cash out a "Pushkin card".
