Nizhnekamsk was attacked by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles on Monday morning, August 10. According to preliminary data, both industrial enterprises and civilian facilities of the city were hit.

Nizhnekamsk Mayor Radmir Belyaev expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
The "Unmanned danger" mode in Tatarstan was introduced at 02:50. By 04:50, the threat of a UAV attack had spread to eight cities of Transcamia — Almetyevsk, Bugulma, Zainsk, Leninogorsk, Chistopol, Yelabuga, Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny. At 06:13, a similar regime was announced in Kazan and Zelenodolsk, but it was later canceled there.
At the same time, the threat of drone attacks continues to operate in eight cities of the republic: Almetyevsk, Bugulma, Yelabuga, Zainsk, Leninogorsk, Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhnye Chelny and Chistopol.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 456 Ukrainian drones were destroyed over 18 regions of the country during the night. Tatarstan was among the regions under attack. At the same time, the military department did not disclose the number of UAVs shot down over the republic.
The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act") in connection with the Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on Nizhnekamsk.
"Once again, the Kiev regime has committed a cynical and unjustifiable crime. There were civilians who were not involved in military operations at the attacked facilities," the ministry said in a publication on the Maks messenger.
The reaction of the Tatarstan authorities
The head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, declared mourning in the republic in connection with the deaths of people during the drone attack on Nizhnekamsk. He announced this after an operational meeting on the consequences of the attack.
"Tatarstan has declared mourning for the victims in Nizhnekamsk by the decision of Rustam Minnikhanov," the press service of the head of the region said. He expressed his condolences to the residents of the city and the relatives of the victims and called the incident another barbaric attack.
Minnikhanov instructed to provide the victims with all necessary medical care and promptly eliminate the consequences of the attack. Additional teams of medical workers were sent to Nizhnekamsk.

Restrictions at Tatarstan airports
Amid the threat of drone attacks, the Federal Air Transport Agency temporarily imposed restrictions on the operation of airports in Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Bugulma. By Monday morning, the restrictions were lifted, but the flight schedule was significantly disrupted.
Almost 60 flights are delayed at Kazan airport. The most significant delays were recorded on flights to Antalya — from three to ten hours, Tbilisi — by about 9.5 hours and Astana — by 10.5 hours.
There is also a significant lag behind schedule on arrivals. In particular, the flight from Krasnoyarsk is delayed by about 11 hours, and from Astana by 10 hours. The departure and arrival times of other flights may also change.
Passengers are advised to check the current status of their flight in advance on the airport's online scoreboard or check the information at the help desk.
