The National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament has unanimously adopted a bill on strategic measures to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by the ISNA news agency on August 9.

"The Strait of Hormuz project has been approved by the National Security Commission," the Telegram channel says.

The document prohibits passage through the strait to vessels of the United States, Israel and other "hostile countries", as well as civilian and military cargo related to Israel. The countries and individuals who caused damage to Iran will not receive permission until they repay it. Fines are provided for violators, including up to 20% of the value of the cargo.

The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohammad Bagher Zulqadra, said a day earlier that until the United States changes its behavior, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed. According to him, Iran demands that the United States stop threats and insults against the country, stop the war and aggression against Iran and its allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen and Iraq, as well as lift the naval blockade and withdraw military forces from the area around Iran.
