Ukraine, against the background of Russian attacks on military installations, has found itself in the most vulnerable position in recent years due to problems with air defense. This was announced on August 9 by the newspaper Die Welt.

"The conflict <...> has entered a new phase. Ukrainian cities are now virtually defenseless against Russian attacks due to a shortage of interceptors," the article says.

In the foreseeable future, Ukraine is unlikely to be able to protect its cities from attacks by the Russian Armed Forces, which puts enormous pressure on the Kiev regime, the newspaper emphasizes.

Zelensky said on August 9 that Ukraine could not yet mass-produce ballistic missiles without the help of Western countries. According to him, Ukraine's capabilities in the production of its own missile weapons remain limited. To increase the volume, Kiev needs the support of foreign partners.
