The Pentagon has rushed the military companies that produce weapons

The Pentagon has demanded that American defense companies submit plans to increase production of weapons and accelerate their supplies as soon as possible. This was reported on August 9 by The Washington Post.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg sent a letter to industry leaders on Wednesday saying they have no more than 21 days left to submit plans to "significantly accelerate and increase the pace of shipments and/or increase production of critical components," the publication said.

The document emphasizes that the existing multi-year development cycles no longer meet the requirements of the American Ministry. As the newspaper noted, the initiative is related to the depletion of American ammunition stocks amid the conflict with Iran.

According to The Washington Post, the Pentagon is also seeking to expand production capacity and expects to use the companies' proposals in preparing the defense budget for fiscal year 2028.

On August 4, the Reuters news agency reported that the US military had used up most of its high-precision long-range missiles during a military operation against Iran. It was clarified that the stocks of ATACMS and PrSM surface–to-surface missiles were particularly depleted.
