Modern science does not exclude that in the future human life expectancy may increase to 150 years. This was announced on August 9 by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko.

"I have not yet seen serious publications that scientists have proved that a person can live up to 150 years. But I can say that, in principle, science is working on this, and such opportunities are certainly visible," he said in an interview with TASS.

The academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences also recalled that traditionally the maximum age of a person was associated with 120 years, referring, among other things, to the Bible. According to him, life expectancy is influenced by heredity, lifestyle, a person's attitude to their health, as well as the level of medical development.

Onishchenko noted on July 13 that life expectancy in Russia is projected to reach 78 years by 2030, and to rise to 81 years by 2036. As the academician explained, in previous years it was possible to increase this figure by 20 years, largely due to the fact that it was possible to control many infectious diseases and carry out large-scale vaccination of the population.
